The Anchor: A Safe Place to Share, Learn, and Be Supported
Supporting a family member or friend with severe mental illness can be a significant challenge. The daily struggles can be difficult, and navigating the complex system can become overwhelming. This Anchor provides an open discussion forum to promote support and understanding.
The group is facilitated by Leigh Oliver, a compassionate mental health professional whose work is grounded in lived experience, resilience, and recovery. With degrees in Public Health and Social Work, Leigh brings extensive experience across behavioral health, recovery support, and community-based services. Drawing from both professional training and personal transformation, she creates a supportive, empowering space rooted in empathy, hope, and the belief that healing and growth are always possible.
The Anchor Support Group meets the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 to 8:00 PM CT / 8:00 - 9:00 PM EST /
5:00 - 6:00 PM PT
