She was left unguided, isolated, and entirely alone to navigate complex privacy barriers and rigid legal systems. Our Crisis-to-Care (C2C) framework ensures no family is ever abandoned in a crisis. We protect families by actively intervening upstream — long before a medical crisis is allowed to become a carceral catastrophe.
Pillar 1: The Family Peer Navigator
Families caught in a Severe Mental Illness (SMI) crisis are routinely isolated by a fragmented administrative ecosystem. C2C pairs them with a dedicated Family Peer Navigator — an expert caregiver who has personally navigated the front lines of severe brain illness. They provide immediate, trauma-informed accompaniment, break the agonizing isolation, and help caregivers execute a continuous strategy for community-based clinical engagement.
Pillar 2: The Legal Navigator
The current standard often forces families to wait for a severe crisis to occur before systems allow medical professionals to step in. C2C provides families with dedicated Legal Navigators trained to help cut through the parallel complexities of civil and health systems: compiling organized clinical histories, guiding families through court proceedings, and ensuring that anosognosia — the biological inability to recognize one's own illness — is documented as key clinical data so that families are treated as partners in care.
