 NSSC member Cindee Murphy's advocacy to see the Tristin Murphy Act bill passed and signed into law was successful. Governor DeSantis signed The 'Tristin Murphy Act' Bill into law on June 25, 2025.

The 'Tristin Murphy Act' Bill was officially passed on May 2, 2025. We applaud Senator Jennifer Bradley for filing The Tristin Murphy Act and hope that her leadership on this issue will start a movement. Tristin's son Cody said it best, "As a 17-year-old, I have to wonder what kind of world I am growing up in that would treat someone so broken so badly."
