Daniel White serves as Georgia’s State Policy Director for the National Shattering Silence Coalition (NSSC), bringing decades of leadership across biotechnology, corporate development, and healthcare innovation, along with a deeply personal commitment to improving outcomes for individuals and families impacted by severe mental illness.
Daniel is the Founder and CEO of Lanier Biotherapeutics, where he led the turnaround of an antibody-discovery company originating from the University of Georgia. He rebuilt the organization from the ground up—forming a new board, assembling executive and medical advisory teams, restructuring operations, and raising $2.6 million in private financing. Under his leadership, Lanier advanced a portfolio of first-in-class antibody therapies targeting type 2 inflammation and fibrosis, while building a strong global intellectual property foundation. Previously, Daniel was the Founder, President, and CEO of Clearside Biomedical, a publicly traded ophthalmic biotechnology company. Over nearly a decade, he built the company into a multi-program clinical-stage organization, raising over $275 million and leading the development of innovative therapies for sight-threatening diseases. His broader career includes leadership roles in corporate development and finance with organizations such as GSK/Stiefel, Alimera Sciences, Novartis’ CIBA Vision, and aaiPharma, where he played a key role in numerous financings, acquisitions, and product launches. Across his career, Daniel has participated in more than $450 million in capital raises and over thirty transactions, contributing to the development and commercialization of multiple approved therapies. He holds an MBA from Wake Forest University, a degree in Molecular Biology from Auburn University, and has completed additional studies in pharmacology and finance. Daniel’s advocacy is also shaped by profound personal loss. His son, Harrison James White, passed away in December 2025 after a long and courageous battle with illness. Harrison’s life was defined by kindness, resilience, and a deep love for others. An avid outdoorsman and accomplished rock climber, he brought joy, warmth, and encouragement to everyone around him. His legacy continues to inspire Daniel’s work to ensure that no family has to navigate severe mental illness without support, resources, and access to timely care. In addition to his professional and advocacy work, Daniel is dedicated to service, including youth coaching and involvement in community and faith-based initiatives. His leadership at NSSC reflects both his strategic expertise and his unwavering commitment to transforming systems of care for those in crisis and the families who stand beside them. |
