Marianna Vertsman is dedicated to supporting New York families in their fight for fair, compassionate, and evidence-based treatment for loved ones living with serious mental illness—no-fault brain disorders that deserve the same standard of care as any other medical condition.
Drawing on her background as an information professional and experienced event organizer, Marianna works to elevate public understanding of serious mental illness through a scientific and policy-informed lens. In collaboration with the Office of the Mayor, the Blau Center at Mount Sinai, policy experts, and bestselling authors, she has helped develop and deliver impactful public programs focused on serious brain disorders and mental health policy. Marianna is committed to fostering meaningful dialogue and is actively seeking to connect with public officials, medical experts, families, and advocates to advance solutions and drive systemic change. With a strong focus on achieving true parity between mental and physical healthcare, she is currently compiling a comprehensive collection of vetted resources, scientific research, and evidence-based treatment frameworks to support advocacy efforts and provide practical guidance to those navigating a fragmented and underfunded system of care. Marianna holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Long Island University and a Master of Library Science (MLS) from the Palmer School of Information and Library Science. |
