Valerie Franchitti serves as the Co-Chair of NSSC’s Political Action Committee and Legislative Research Analyst. In this dual capacity, she spearheads data-driven policy analysis to systematically isolate sources of fragmentation within public health networks, quantify the economic and human harms of systemic neglect, and architect scalable legislative models for a true crisis-to-care continuum.

Professionally, Valerie is a Collegiate Associate with the Manhattan Institute, where her research focuses on the intersection of public policy and healthcare infrastructure. Her current portfolio includes executing rigorous analytical reviews of the IMD Exclusion and mapping its direct, measurable impact on acute psychiatric bed availability across the United States.

An incoming J.D. candidate at Columbia Law School, Valerie brings an elite multidisciplinary background to NSSC’s legislative operations. She graduated cum laude from New York University with a B.A. in Mathematics, Economics, and Philosophy.

​During her tenure at NYU, she was awarded the prestigious College of Arts and Science Alumni Award for outstanding scholarship, institutional involvement, and executive leadership, and received the Salomonowitz Prize for authorship of the university's best undergraduate philosophy thesis. Her work at NSSC bridges the gap between rigorous quantitative data and structural healthcare reform.
