Bereaved Parent/Caregiver Support Group

NSSC Member and bereaved mother, Barbara Gates, is facilitating a support group for parents/caregivers who have lost a loved one to circumstances of Serious Mental Illness (SMI), as she lost her beloved Jack Gates in January 2023.

We'll meet the Third Saturday 2:30pm Pacific / 5:30pm Eastern each month.

Missing Jack everyday, Barbara hopes to get and give support to those who have endured the triple tragedy of
1) witnessing their cherished loved literally go insane,
2) not be able to get them the treatment they need because of archaic laws, and instead watch their disease be criminalized, spending YEARS living between jail and the streets and finally
​3) lose them forever...and lose a part of our future.
